Cupping

The use of porcelain or glass cups and heat to create a suction over areas of the body, allowing space increased circulation, most commonly used to alleviate pain and address respiratory issues. Traditional fire cupping is utilized by Jetta.

Acupuncture

Rooted in Traditional Chinese and East Asian Medicine (TCEAM), acupuncture is the insertion of fine, single use needles in various strategic areas of the body (“acupoints”) for an individualized pain-less treatment to reset the mind and body, helping homeostasis, healing and wellness often with a sense of relaxation.

Moxibustion “Moxa”

A traditional heat therapy in which various forms of the herb mugwort are lit and used in strategic ways over the body to bring warmth and circulation to the body. This can be beneficial for strengthening the body, improving fertility, reducing pain, addressing menstrual issues, flipping a breech baby, and more.

Electro-Stimulation

Acupuncture needles are sometimes combined with a specific type of TENS unit, allowing a gentle electrical current to pulse or stimulate the needles, often referred to as “electro-acupuncture.” This technique is used for supporting labor preparation and fertility to injury recovery and chronic pain.

Auricular (Ear) Treatment

In Traditional Chinese and East Asian Medicine (TCEAM), the ears are seen as a microsystem of the entire body with over 200 unique acu-points. Treatment can be achieved by utilizing needles (acupuncture) or ear seeds (acupressure).

FAQS.

  • All are welcome. I am happy to offer a safe, compassionate and supportive space for all ages, regardless of gender identity, sexual preference or race.

  • Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed into the space where we will chat before proceeding to an individualized treatment. You will be asked questions about your mental and physical health. Your pulses on each wrist and a visual observation of your tongue will also be performed. All of these pieces will provide information to help shape your individualized treatment. The treatment can include one or more healing techniques including, but not limited to acupuncture and cupping. You’ll be able to rest on the heated (optional) massage table for about 20-40 minutes. It is common to fall asleep or enter a meditative state while resting. Your comfort is the first priority, so I will share my treatment plan and ensure your comfort each step of the way.

  • Please be sure to have eaten a light meal and hydrated properly before your treatment. It is also recommended to have comfortable, loose fitting clothing to wear. However, sheets and towels are available as needed or preferred. If you’d like to listen to specific music or meditation while you rest, you’re welcome to bring it along with you.

  • After your treatments it is recommended to hydrate and nourish yourself. It is recommended to avoid alcohol, sugar, fried, greasy and rich foods. If cupping is performed, please be prepared to keep the treated area covered for the remainder of the day. After cupping it is also advised to not swim, hot tub or sauna just for that day.

  • While many insurances offer acupuncture coverage, I do not bill insurance at this time. I am happy to provide super bill’s upon request for those that would like to apply for reimbursement from their insurance companies. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed, and varies between plans. It is advised that you verify your benefits.

If you would still like to see a provider who bills insurance, you can find the contracted providers through your insurance portal or contacting your carrier.

  • Not at this time.

  • Although rare, just like any treatment there is a possibility of side effects. The most common side effect is a sense of relaxation, heaviness or feeling a bit “spacey”.

With the insertion of needles in to the skin it is possible to have:

    Bruising

    Soreness

    Redness or a “histamine” reaction

    Itching

    Fatigue

  • Since care is individualized this may vary. Acupuncture operates on building on the improvements made each treatment. Depending on the goals for seeking care, treatment may be on average once a week over the course of a few weeks or months. However, some patients may be better to receive treatments closer together over a shorter period of time. Frequency for those try to conceive or improve their menstrual health may not be the same as those coming for pain relief or digestive issues. Your individual needs will be discussed with you after your first visit.
